Jamma is an Italian, LA-based singer-songwriter. Her smokey vocals and sweaty sounds are heavily inspired by blues and rock music. Folk music, however, is the primary inspiration for her lyrics, which fuse both the American and Italian traditions, as well as the languages.

Born Marianna Vitale in Naples (Italy), class of ’99, she felt the calling of music from a very early age, listening to her parents’ and grandparents’ records. She didn’t know at the time, but she was exposed to some of her biggest influences to this day in folk, rock and blues music.

At the age of 8, she started playing classical guitar, pivoting to modern music at the age of 15, when she started taking voice lessons alongside electric guitar, bass and piano.

A decisive moment, however, came as she graduated from her MBA in 2024 and moved to Los Angeles to attend the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. There she immersed herself even more in the blues, jazz and funk scene, performing alongside her peers in several venues across town.

Right now, after more than 10 years of study and countless live experiences, she has released her first 2 singles titled “Farewell” and “American ways”: gothy, bluesy songs that touch on the themes of independence and sensuality. These are the first 2 tracks of a 3-song EP titled “Presents”, that investigates universal themes: life, love and death.

Unapologetic, sensual, witty, her style and vision embody the dichotomy of womanhood: romantic and punk, stylish and decadent — the antiheroine of Gen Z.
